How To Make June Holidays Exciting Again

Hey, parents! How’s the first week of the June Holidays been for everyone? By now, the thrill of no school (for the time being, at least) might have worn off a little, and your kids are probably eager to get out and discover new places. They’re complaining ‘we’re bored!’ as you read this article, aren’t they?

Well, ONE Intervention has got you covered. Whether you’re looking for some exciting adventures to treat your children to this June Holidays, or you’re just trying to minimize the amount of screen time that your little ones get over the next few weeks, we’ve prepared a whole list of fun activities that you can take your kids on. Without further ado, let’s get into it: Here are seven fun activities for your kids to do this June Holidays!

Have Some Roaring Good Fun At Jurassic World Cloud Forest

This one is perfect for our little paleontologists! Jurassic World opened in Cloud Forest on 29 May, just a couple of weeks ago. The exhibit features fantastical animatronics from the popular series that you can get up-close and personal with. Highlights include an 8.5m-tall brachiosaurus and adorable baby dinosaurs in a petting zoo area. Of course, we can’t forget the amazing display of the king of the dinosaurs – the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Your kids will get the chance to try the Evolution Walk, where they can learn about the various types of plants in different eras. They’ll be introduced to the methods of reproduction before plants adapted to have flowers. The exhibit aims to engage visitors in an immersive experience that teaches them about how prehistoric ecosystems shaped our planet. Cool, isn’t it?

For some extra fun, get your kids to spend a day or two in their June Holidays marathoning the iconic movie series. This way, they’ll get to spot the hallmark moments in the series recreated in the Cloud Forest, so the exhibit will be more meaningful to them. Why not make it a competition, and see which of you can spot more of these easter eggs?

Light It Up At iLight Singapore 2025!

Asia’s leading light festival is back again, and you aren’t going to want to miss it this year! From 29 May to 21 June, amazing light installations are going to be displayed in various locations all over Singapore. These artworks are in equal parts unique and thought-provoking, and they’re absolutely stunning

To start with, check out the insightful ‘Piano Walk’ piece at Marina Bay. This interactive piece invites visitors to explore a new dimension to music. By walking over the larger-than-life piano, visitors are able to produce a diversity of soundscapes that come together to play an original composition every ten minutes. Talk about life imitating art! Your children are sure to be fascinated by the neon keys and the variety of sounds that their simple act of walking can produce.

For your younger children, ONE recommends visiting ‘Take a walk through the meadow with me’ at the lawn beside the NTUC building. This stunning piece features a field of interactive flowers. As you and your family approach the flowers, they light up and begin to play music. The more people there are, the more flowers ‘bloom’! Magical, isn’t it? This exhibit breathes life into once-discarded acrylic waste and other industrial fragments. It invites visitors to reflect on the hidden beauty of what others might view as trash – upcycling at its finest and most basic level.

Best of all? Each of these installations can be viewed at entirely no cost at all!

Stop And Smell The… Lilies? At Lilytopia!

Another fun activity that you can take your kids on in the June Holidays is a quick frolic through Lilytopia at Gardens By The Bay. The experience promises a taste of scenic Venice, where lilies are in full bloom throughout the summer. Claimed to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, you’re sure to be endeared by Gardens By The Bay’s charming rendition of this little Italian town.

If your children are particularly interested in the language of flowers, be sure to tell them that the lily actually represents love, purity and rebirth. This little tidbit of information makes the stroll through the garden all that more meaningful. Plus, the sweet scent of lilies is said to be a great stress reliever. Research has shown that it’s capable of soothing headaches and calming anxiety, so a walk through Lilytopia is sure to leave your family feeling recharged, refreshed and ready to take on the next task!

Psst! Don’t forget that the Flower Dome – where Lilytopia is – is located pretty close to the Cloud Forest. That’s where the Jurassic World exhibit is! Why not buy the tickets for both and make a day of the outing? And before you leave, make sure to check out Gardens By The Bay’s magical (and FREE!) lightshow: Garden Rhapsody! We’ve mentioned it in this article of 5 Free, Fun, Fabulous Family Activities To Try Now!
